How can a teacher organize contents to increase complexity and lead students to promote 'higher-order thinking'?
1. A representational system and emotion are the two characteristics of human thinking. A representational system helps to illustrate the diversity of patterns in human thinking. Emotion also plays an important role in th thinking process since it closely affects student's interest and motivation.
ReplyDelete2. We get information through basic processes which begin from observing, finding patterns and generalizing, forming to assssing conclusions.
3. There are six levels in Bloom's taxonomy which are create, evaluate, analyze, apply, understand and remember. This framework can upgrade the quality of teacher instruction and student learning because it is user-frienly and simple and its supplementary materials are inexpensive. .
DQ : Teachers are able to encourage students to promote 'higher-order thinking' while organizing the curriculum and contents following Bloom's 6 steps, especially using 3 steps such as analyze, evaluate and create. Also, teachecrs should consider how to give students a positive thinking.
ReplyDeleteAP : What if teachers write one complex question related to the contents on the whiteboard when the class begins? After learning the knowledge, students might think of the answer and discuss in pairs. For instance, they can be acted like one of juries in a court.
